Broccoli and Bacon Macaroni

BROCCOLI AND BACON MACARONIFast, simple and so good! All the family will ask for more of it!

Preparation time: 20 min

– 350 g of organic Kamut macaroni
– 1 medium sized broccoli, cut in small pieces
– 1 tbsp of olive oil
– 1 french shallot, finely cut
– 5 strips of bacon, cut into pieces
– 2 garlic cloves, chopped
– 250ml of 15% country cream
– 1/3 cup of parmesan cheese, grated
– 1/3 cup of organic medium cheddar, grated from
”La Chaudiere” cheese maker

Cook the macaroni in a large quantity of salted water, uncovered, 4 to 5 minutes. Add the broccoli and continue to cook for 1 to 2 minutes. Drain the pasta and broccoli and then place them in a pot to keep them hot. Heat the olive oil in a large frying pan and then add the french shallots, the bacon and the garlic and cook until the bacon is crispy. Add the cream and stir constantly until it starts to thicken. Add the parmesan cheese. Preheat the oven to broil. Mix in the pasta and broccoli with the sauce, pour into an oven resistant dish and top with cheddar cheese. Brown under the grill for a few minutes and then serve.
